THE SWORD OF THE LORD

Judges 7:20-21, "And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow withal: and they cried, The Sword of the Lord, and of Gideon. And they stood every man in his plce round about the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled."

Throughout our Bibles we find this phrase, "The sword of the Lord", or references to God having a sword. I have found many verses that prove that God has a sword and that He uses it to defend His people. It is a sharp sword. It is a powerful sword. It is a sword of victory. It is a sword of might. It is the Sword of The Lord!
  1. Victory is promised to us by the Sword (Leviticus 26:7-8)
  2. God will use His Sword to avenge His people (Deuteronomy 32:39-42)
  3. God's angels have Swords (1 Chronicles 21:16)
  4. David says that God has a Sword (Psalms 45:3)
  5. God's Sword is a Sword of battle (Isaiah 34:5-8 & Isaiah 66:16)
  6. God's Sword is so awesome that Jeremiah begged God to put it up and not use it any more (Jeremiah 47:6)
  7. God allows men to use His Sword at times (Ezekial 30:24-25)
  8. Jesus says something about God's Sword (Matthew 10:34)
  9. The Sword of the Lord is given unto men to execute wrath against sin (Romans 13:1-4)
  10. The Sword of the Lord is now part of our weaponry (Ephesians 6:17)

 

The Sword of the Lord can cut through anything! (Hebrews 4:12)
