At the time of this writing by Joel, the Holy Ghost had not been poured out upon mankind yet. Can you imagine what it must have felt like to have such revelations birthed in your spirit and to write those revelations down on paper for the whole world to see? What if he had revealed them in his day? What do you think those people would have said? No doubt they probably laughed and made fun of Joel for predicting such a wild idea. I can hear them now. "Did you hear what old Joel is prophesying this week my friend? I mean, just imagine. God's going to pour out His Spirit upon the "whole" world? Who ever heard of such a ridiculous statement? Surely nothing like that will never happen!" Or would it?

 Well, you know what my friends? One day I was reading through my Bible. And lo and behold, guess what I found? I came to a book in the New Testament. Hmmm, what was that book called again? Oh yes, the Book of Acts. And I came to a chapter within that book, let's see, what chapter was it again? Oh yes, chapter 2. And I read within that chapter something very interesting in verse number 4 that said, "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost." Now friends, I said to myself, "Self. What is this thing called the Holy Ghost? I guess I need to read a little bit more".

So, you guessed it. I read a little more and then came to a most startling verse. I came to verse 16, where an apostle by the name of Peter was preaching. And man did he ever say something strange! How did it go again? Oh yea! He said, "This is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel". Well glory! I guess God knew what He was doing!

As you read this message, I want you to now go back with me in time. Let's go back to the Day of Pentecost. And as we know stand on the street corner, we hear a crowd shouting something up to a man by the name of Peter up on a balcony. Let's listen in to hear what they are saying.

"What is this?" we hear one man in the crowd yell out. "Hey you up there. What is this?" And then Peter says, "This is that"."

I can imagine somebody then saying, "This is that? This is that? Sir, I don't understand. If this is that, then what is that?" Then, I can almost hear Peter saying to them, "Well, let me tell you what "that" is."

Jeremiah would say, "Oh I know that ! When that got a hold of me, it felt like fire shut up in my bones! Oh, I know what that is."

Sampson would have said, "Oh, I know what that is. Let me tell you about that! Why, there was an old donkey that had died one day and nobody buried it. Well, one day I came across that old donkey and picked up his jawbone. And all of a sudden "that" got a hold of me and when "that" came on me I slew all of my enemies with that jawbone! Oh, I can tell you all about that.

Ezekial would say, "Oh yea! I can tell you what that is. That picked me up and carried me away in the Spirit. That was what I saw sitting upon an eternal throne. Yea, I know what that is!

Then my friends, we could go to old prophet Isaiah and Isaiah would say, "When that came on me, it told me to write."

Amos would say, "When that spoke to me, it said go prophesy to the nations."

David would tell you, "When that hit me, I could run through a troop and leap over a wall. When that got a hold of me, I could dance like never before. Oh yea, I know what that is!"

Elizabeth would say, "Well you know, one day Mary came by for a visit and started talking about Jesus. And when she did, that got a hold of my baby and my baby John was filled with that in my womb!"

Elisha would say, "Well, that got a hold of me until it got down in my bones. And even after I had died, that was still on my bones and caused a dead man to come back to life when he touched my bones!"

Then my friends, I hear Peter again as he says, "What I am trying to tell you folks is, this is that! And that just got a hold of 120 people up there in that upper room just a few minutes ago. And these are not drunken on wine as you suppose. No! they are drunk on that!"
