HOW SALTY ARE YOU?
Matthew 5:13 "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.
The verse above refers to us as being the salt of the earth. And when you talk about salt I can relate. You see, I love sunflower seeds and regularly have not a little, but a lot in my mouth to get the good salty taste. The funny thing is salt makes you thirsty! So the more salt you have in your mouth, the more thirsty you become. Now ask yourself, how salty are you in your walk with God? See, just like the natural realm salt makes people thirsty, when you are salty for God it will make you thirsty too! But instead of craving natural water, the spirit man thirsts after God.
I ask you, how salty are you? When you go to work, school, church, and everything between, how salty are you for God? When you have contact with sinners is your salt making them thirsty to seek knowledge about God? Or does your salt make them want to know how to grow closer to Him? Does your salt make them ask questions about Jesus, ask why are you different than everyone else, and any other question making them thirsty about God? You see, you as the salt of the earth become even saltier the more time you spend with God. And the more seasoned you become will make sinners thirsty for the knowledge of Christ. This not only goes for making sinners thirsty for God, but also when you go to church and you're passionate and on fire for God you should make other Christians around you more thirsty for God than ever too!
How salty are you for God? Is your joy, peace, happiness, strength in hard times, righteousness, boldness, zeal, passion, wisdom, and the list goes on and on, touching the lives of people around you? Is your salt touching them because you're so passionate and salty that God’s very presence is on you with so much seasoning that everyone becomes thirsty around you? Do you make them so thirsty that they have no choice but to drink in the presence of God? Those who fight off the thirst of God after awhile will have to come and drink from the ocean of God’s presence. So ask yourself, "How salty am I?", and then continue to become even more salty for God no matter what your answer is!
Because, trust me, you will eventually become like me, and just who am I? Ah, nobody. I'm just...........
A Servant of Christ,
Someone who can never become too salty!!!
Salt yourself,
I live a life of servitude to Christ, instead of being a slave to my own desires.
